Rio de Janeiro

The Tijuca urban jungle is one of the rare urban forests in the world. Located in the northern area of Rio de Janeiro, the upper area of the Tijuca National Park, with its ventilated climate, its exuberant nature and its proximity to the city, was the subject of residential estate development between the end of the 19th century and the beginning of the20th century. Rancho Alto is one of the rare properties from those times that maintains its residential use. In its vast property and due to the serenity and natural beauty of the place, its owners commissioned me to identify an area where to develop a clinic project for the admission of psychiatric patients. The canyon wrapped in vegetation chosen to develop the terraced project allowed the necessary privacy that the clinic needed as well as the ideal proximity that these owners wanted to maintain between their residence and that of their patients.
