The Pods

Tuscany

There are two images that I find fascinating from romantic painting of the 17th century: the house devoured by vegetation and the ruin as an uncovered house. These wooden cabins in the forest are a version of that doublethink. It is a minimum space of 14 square meters to sleep and study as guest on a country villa. In that reduced surface it is possible to feel like you sleep in a nest in a tree and at the same time feel each space large and expanded beyond the surface it actually occupies. It is a series placed on the slope of a hilly forest on the Tuscan seashore.
